Mariana Fialho Painter
It is through our cultural identities that we often interpret the natural World in which we exist. It follows then that when an artist has the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures, the work will then reflects this diversity and richness.
Such is the case in the work of Mariana Fialho.
Mariana’s use of color is a particular reference to her Portuguese heritage. Bringing to us, depth of hue and luminosity, from the place of her birth. Her figures speak to us of space and an ‘other worldliness’. A place that exists in another dimension or a fantasy. She invites and draws us into the work while charming us with its beauty.
She has a very mature and interesting painting technique that shows her meticulous training and her years of work. The work is textured and playful at its surface and shows us at times a feminine reference to ‘nurturing’.
While living in Switzerland, Mariana has continued to grow and challenge herself to put together even more complex compositions. She begins to fine-tune the style that she is developing and her work in general has moved to a different level. It is exciting to see this growth in an already accomplished painter.

I have always been very inspired by Mariana's art work. She expresses herself in a very creative and individual way. I was first introduced to her work through one of her first exhibitions in Switzerland and was then very impressed with her innovative ideas and use of colour. I have since purchased a beautiful painting of hers.
We feel very lucky to have found Mariana as our Art Teacher at the Happy Snail Preschool in Horgen, (ZU) She has enriched the school with her great talent!
